The Financial Services Authority in Iceland (FME) and the Dubai Financial Services Authority sign a MoU.
The Financial Services Authority in Iceland (FME) and the Financial Services Authority in Dubai (DFSA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The purpose of the MoU is to establish a framework for cooperation, including mutual assistance and exchange of information between the authorities. The MoU covers cooperation between the two authorities in general.
Director General of the FME, Mr. Jónas Fr. Jónsson, says that the MoU with Dubai Financial Services Authorities signifies the global scope of the Icelandic financial sector. “The FME has recently signed a MoU with it's counterpart in China as well as in the Isle of Man. This increased interest in markets outside the European Economic Area entails an increased international focus of the FME and further cooperation with supervisory authorities. This development is being integrated into our strategy and daily operations. Currently there are five more MoU's under preparation.”
