Information on premiums and total market share of foreign EEA insurance companies in Iceland 2001-2004
FME has published statistical data on foreign EEA insurance companies' operations in the Icelandic market. The data concern companies either providing services through branches or by way of freedom to provide services, as defined in the Insurance Directives. The data are based on information provided by other supervisors in the EEA.
The first table shows premiums in non-life insurance lines of business and total for life assurance. The numbers are calculated in ISK. The second table shows the total market share of foreign EEA insurance companies in the Icelandic market.
FME will publish similar information for 2005 as soon as they are available from all the EEA supervisory authorities.
